updated and redesigned: annie’s cupcake candle box (DS)

Several weeks ago, I designed this box for a woman from the Cricut forum who makes and sells adorable cupcake shaped candles.  In my original design, I used both the Plantin Schoolbook and Calligraphy Collection cartridges.  Unfortunately, she did not have the CC cart.  I finally got around to redesigning this box, so I hope she can still use it.  This time, I used only Plantin Schoolbook.  You will need the Cricut Expression to cut this box because of the pattern size.

Cupcaks Candle Box AThe scoring lines should be obvious – just use the flaps as a guide.

The top has a round window that can be filled in by either acetate (which is my preference) or a pretty paper of your choice.  In either case, cut a piece that is slightly smaller than the 3″ square area of the top and adhere it to the inside with either double stick tape or glue.

Here is a view of how the top looks:

Cupcake Candle Box BMaterials used:

1 sheet of 12″ by 12″ cardstock

(I used “Brass” from the DCWV Metallic Stack.)

1  3″ square piece of acetate or designer paper to line the top

Double stick tape to hold the flaps together (Scor-Tape is my new favorite – very sticky and strong!)

This box has a 3″ square base and is approximately 2 1/4″ in height.

Here is the Design Studio cut file:

What to fill it with?  How about a blueberry muffin?
